We are looking for a Senior Research Software Engineer for our Global R&D team at IonQ. You'd build the software our quantum scientists rely on for lab orchestration, experiment data, and hardware control. If you've written software that talks to real instruments and wrangles real, messy, physical-world data, this might be for you.
Looking for: 5+ years of experience, strong Python skills, ownership of the full software development lifecycle, observability, and CI/CD. Hardware or lab-data experience is the bar.
No physics background is required!

"The senior lead doesn't write code from scratch. Neither will you."
We're a tiny team building a field-service-management platform for AES, an environmental-test-chamber manufacturer. One senior lead, one part-time backend specialist, and we're hiring a summer intern. The product is pre-production with active user feedback driving the build — you'll ship features that real service coordinators and field technicians will use day-to-day.
The bar is NOT raw coding ability. We use Claude Code for all code generation. The bar is the ability to direct an AI at production engineering and catch it when it's wrong: schema literacy, diff-reading, end-to-end ownership.
Stack: Next.js 14 (App Router, RSC, Server Actions), TypeScript strict, Prisma + Postgres, Tailwind + shadcn/ui, NextAuth, Twilio, Anthropic SDK, Playwright. ~100K lines of TS with `any` banned by lint.
Must-haves: a track record building with AI tools (link your best AI-built work — a PR, a deployed project, or a repo, ideally with a CLAUDE.md), at least one shipped end-to-end project that runs somewhere a stranger can use, schema/data-flow literacy, clear written communication, strong academic record. TypeScript fluency NOT required from scratch.
Eligibility: US person, able to pass standard background check. We can't sponsor visas or hire F-1/OPT for this role.
Logistics: 20–40 hrs/wk flex, Mon–Fri, remote with occasional in-person days at AES Chelmsford MA or our coworking space in Waltham MA. W-2, paid hourly. Apps close June 8.
No leetcode. No whiteboard. Show us your best AI-built work — a PR, a deployed app, or a repo. Apply: https://tally.so/r/44pNxX
Elucid builds FDA-cleared AI software that analyzes cardiac CT scans to characterize plaque and predict heart attack and stroke risk. The world's best cardiologists use our output to make treatment decisions for real patients. As such, our platform is regulated as a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) product by the FDA and we operate under HIPAA, ISO 13485, and ISO 27001.
We're hiring a Principal Platform Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure and developer platform: AWS, containers, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, and the self-service tooling that lets our application teams ship quickly inside a regulated SDLC.
We are looking for: 7+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform roles, deep AWS, strong IaC, comfort with containers (ECS/Fargate, Kubernetes), and one language you reach for when building tooling (Python, Go, Rust, Ruby, C++). Healthcare or regulated-industry experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
On-call is a shared rotation, roughly 2–3 weeks per quarter, business-day coverage only (9am–midnight ET, no overnights).
Apply at the link above.
Cambridge, MA, USA (metro Boston) | ONSITE strongly preferred; REMOTE (US east coast) possible for exceptional candidates
SecureBio is a nonprofit working to protect the world from catastrophic pandemics. We operate the world’s largest metagenomic biosurveillance network, which performs daily sequencing of wastewater samples and nasal swabs to screen for emerging pathogens. Our computational team develops detection pipelines responsible for rapid processing of deep sequencing data in order to flag potential threats.
I'm the hiring manager for two roles:
- Senior infrastructure engineer, to own cloud infra, devops, CI/CD, AWS security, etc. https://securebio.org/careers/2026-cloud-infra-engineer/
- [Senior] software engineer focused on high performance data pipelines. https://securebio.org/careers/2026-software-engineer-pipelin...
Prior experience with biology or bioinformatics is not required. If you're interested, please apply via the relevant job posting. Feel free to drop me a line with questions; email is in my profile.
Datadog is a monitoring, tracing, logs system, and more, for your infrastructure and services. We build our own tsdb, event store [1][2], distributed tracing tools, cutting edge visualizations, and more. We love shipping great experiences for customers just like us and are growing fast! We write a lot of Go, Java, Python, Typescript (with React), and a bit of other languages. We run on k8s, and are multi-region and multi-cloud.
We're looking for people who can build systems at scale as we process trillions of events per day. Let us know if that's you!

We are hiring a Senior Scientist to join our team. We're working at the intersection of LLM training and the inference stack.
We're looking for someone who wants to work in the following intersection:
* Both implementation experience and theoretical background in compilers, programming languages, or programming models. We have an absolutely requirement for someone with mathematical maturity in formal systems (programming language theory, type theory, proof assistants, etc.)
* practical experience pretraining and rl tuning LLMs (or skill-adjacent experience / expertise)
* practical experience developing or modifying inference engines for LLMs
From an academic perspective, think "POPL/PLDI/OOPSLA/CAV/etc." + "NeurIPS/ICML/AISTATS/etc.".
The job posting for a Senior Scientist position, with rough salary ranges, will go live soon. I'll edit or post a reply with the link when it's live. For now, if you have expertise at some intersection of the above topics, please feel free to reach out: nathan@ibm.com

We also have a Research Engineering role for which we're actively interviewing: https://careers.ibm.com/en_US/careers/JobDetail?jobId=113488...
I'm a solo founder. I built the entire product myself, got 11 fire departments paying with zero churn, and now I need someone to own engineering so I can't be the only one who does. West Point, Ranger Regiment, Yale Law, still the only developer.
What we do: Hotwash is an after-action review platform for fire departments. After a serious call, crews record what happened, we transcribe and structure it, and the hard-won lessons become searchable institutional memory instead of retiring when the veterans who earned them do. Fire is the wedge; the long game is operational learning for any high-reliability organization.
Traction: $40K ARR, 11 paying fire departments, zero churn. Raising a $1M pre-seed.
The role: Employee #1 on engineering. You own the codebase, architecture, and UX end to end, and you lead the rebuild off the current stack. You work directly with me on what gets built and why, including sitting with fire chiefs to figure out what they actually need. For the right person this becomes the CTO seat.
Who I'm looking for: A full-stack engineer who ships simple, usable products and has a real eye for design. Our users are fire crews, not power users, so the bar is "obvious to someone who's never seen it." If you care about how software feels, not just whether it works, this is your seat.
Stack: Today it's FlutterFlow + Firebase, Node, with Groq/AssemblyAI for transcription and Gemini for summarization. The rebuild target is React Native (Expo), Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2. You'd own that migration, so this is real greenfield ownership, not maintenance.
Comp: Founding equity, scaled to scope.
We're pre-raise, so cash is lean right now and grows when we close.
Email hiring@hotwash.com with a resume, link to something you've built, and one line on why this interests you.
We’re rebuilding America’s air traffic control system from scratch. What we do in the next two years will define how this country moves through the sky for the next fifty.
At the core is one of the largest real-time optimization problems in the world: how do you safely sequence ~40,000 flights/day while routing around weather, military airspace, equipment outages, and constant real-world churn? The system has to be right every time, and reliable at scale.
We’re hiring across Backend, Infrastructure, and Frontend (ICs and Tech Leads).
One of our roles (with a small puzzle at the bottom that routes to my email): https://www.airspace-intelligence.com/careers/role?=1336c828... - include “HackerNews” in the subject so I can prioritize.
If you want a problem that is genuinely hard, consequential, and urgent - this is the moment to reach out.
