FreeFlyer @ a.i. solutions | Space Applications Graphics Engineer | Full-time | REMOTE or Washington, DC Area | https://ai-solutions.com/freeflyer-astrodynamic-software/
Hello! We are the team that builds FreeFlyer, a space mission design software tool. We’re hiring for a graphics engineer to lead the development of a new rendering engine for our space mission visualization and analysis tools, which are used by space mission designers at NASA and other space organizations around the world.
Space mission designers use FreeFlyer to overcome a variety of challenges when it comes to designing a satellite or rocket mission. By combining a state-of-the-art orbit simulation engine, a user-friendly IDE, and interactive data visualizations, FreeFlyer helps our users plan and operate complex space missions. Our users have trusted FreeFlyer to design and operate 225+ space missions over the last 20 years.
We're looking for a graphics engineer who is interested in using modern APIs such as DirectX 12, Metal, Vulkan, and WebGPU to build an efficient and responsive new rendering engine. As scientific applications, our tools have unique requirements for accuracy and scale, and there is no shortage of interesting problems to solve.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop new skills and have a tremendous impact on a product that is key to future space missions. You’ll have a lot of support and opportunities for collaboration with our two-pizza-sized development team. Our company, a.i. solutions, supports a variety of NASA customers for space mission design and operations, so you’ll have opportunities to hear about the hard work that goes into planning successful space missions, such as NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
If you think space is cool and are interested in a new set of challenges, let us know! Please don’t hesitate to reach out as we’re very open to considering candidates with different backgrounds.
