What we do: contracting
ABOUT FRACTILE Fractile was founded in 2022 on the bet that, eventually, the world’s most capable AI systems would be limited in their impact by the amount of time they take to produce useful outputs. We bet everything on the logical conclusion: that the only way to truly unlock this latent value, to make speed viable at scale, was to radically re-invent the hardware that we run our frontier AI models on. Ever since, we have been building chips and systems that tackle this problem: how to generate output at thousands of tokens per second, while handling the complexity and capacity challenges of operating large models at very long contexts.
We’ve recently raised $220M from Founders Fund and Accel and the most important work lies ahead. Come and join the mission!
THE ROLE As a Software Engineer you will be a core part of our technical team working alongside the hardware, software and research teams to solve cutting-edge problems in AI hardware, ranging from verification to simulation, alongside the best of the best (DeepMind, Apple, Meta…).
ABOUT YOU 1) You have exceptional ability. We look for pivotal IC contributions that solved the hardest problems in big tech companies or hedge funds; competitive hackathons, International Olympiad medals, or rank highly in other competitions like advent of code
2. You are a top engineer. We are not looking for specific languages or technologies - you will be a master of several, you excel at algorithmic skills and solving problems logically in any programming language. And you are very comfortable learning new skills on the fly. You like to work in Python and C++
3. It’s likely you have several years of professional experience, but we will make exceptions for the right candidate
4. You want to work with the best. And you are excited to work in chips, solving the hardest problems at the frontier of AI
WHAT WE OFFER 1. Competitive compensation and meaningful equity 2. A very cool office with London's best views 3. Private medical insurance and pension benefits
If this sounds like you, ping carmen@fractile.ai
I don't think I can afford hiring someone in north america, I'm not a company, this is a small project that'll take more than a year
I'm looking for someone who understands C/C++ and would be willing to learn C++20. The codebase is small (<100k lines), and you'll be working with me to complete a project. I'll help you learn C++20 and various tools. I don't mind if you know very little, but you'll need to understand every line you write and be able to explain it to me. You'll be expect to problem solve alone.
Email me something to look at. JurassicTyler@proton.me I don't need a resume. I rather look at code you written entirely yourself. Pick a specific file you think is interesting.

Ecosmic is on a mission to reduce threat exposure in space by building software for Space Situational Awareness. To achieve this, we built a team of flight dynamics engineers and computer scientists to build & package in-house algorithms into easy-to-use, reliable, and secure products. As an example, our platform recently allowed us to identify a series of close approaches in GEO involving Russia's Luch/Olymp-2 and a Western telecommunications satellite, possibly attributed to SIGINT activity.
We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer (mid-level candidates are welcome too!) to aid the effort of unlocking on-premises deployments of our algorithms with Kubernetes, and to contribute to the evolution of our platform.
Our stack includes Python for backend services and high-level algorithm tooling, C++ for performance-critical components, AWS for cloud infrastructure, and Terraform for IaC. We currently use managed serverless services, and we’re beginning a gradual migration from C++ to Rust for its reliability guarantees.
You’d join a team of three software engineers who love working in such a fantastic domain. I currently take care of most of the infrastructure work with the team, and we’re looking for someone who can help us tackle this new challenge.

Healthcare in the U.S. is a mess. Komodo Health is fixing that—with data. We've mapped the patient journey across the country to build the most complete picture of disease burden and treatment gaps. Our customers are pharma, payers, and health systems who actually want to do something meaningful with that information.
We have an exciting project, where we are building a custom, healthcare data specific compute engine that can be orders of magnitude faster than any analytics solution out there.
We're looking for a Staff-level Data Software Engineer (emphasizing the importance of both data and software here!) to work on this project at the core of our platform. This is a data-engineering problem solved with real software-engineering rigor: you'll be designing the data structures and query systems that make analytics over massive healthcare datasets feel instant. Not wiring up someone else's pipeline DAGs — building the engine underneath.
It's demanding, low-level, performance-obsessed work, and correctness is sacred. If you care about where the microseconds go and refuse to trade off getting the answer right, you'll fit in.
The team is very small, and we intend to keep it this way. If you are interested in heads down work with a group of high caliber like-minded folks, this may be perfect.
What we're looking for
- Staff-level software engineer with deep systems chops — you reason naturally about memory, parallelism, and performance. Rust is a plus; strong C++/Go/systems experience that transfers is welcome.
- Serious data engineering experience — large-scale data processing, columnar formats, correctness/validation at scale, schema discipline.
- AI experience is optional — but the curiosity to go deep on it is not.
- Must already be in the US.
Perks
If you’re in SF/NY, there are offices, but if you choose, you can WFH. We have on-sites every few months to let the team mingle, at various locations! executive/career coaching if desired.
Before you email
Interested? Email me: ramraj.velmurugan@komodohealth.com.
1. You need to already be in the US.
2. You really need advanced data engineering experience. AI experience is optional, though we may test you for aptitude.
3. I've mentioned a keyword in my HN profile — include it in your email (plenty of people just blast every address in these posts). I'll read every email mentioning that keyword sent in the next two days!
