As a Quant Developer here at Man Group you will be working hand-in-hand with our Quant Researchers. Your challenges will be varied, and will involve implementing new trading strategies, building new research frameworks and quant libraries, prototyping new data feeds, development of new portfolio construction techniques or building risk analysis tools.
Our systems are almost all running on Linux and most of our code is in Python, with the full scientific stack: numpy, scipy, pandas, scikit-learn to name a few of the libraries we use extensively. We implement the systems that require the highest data throughput in Java. For storage, we rely heavily on MongoDB and Oracle.
We use Airflow for workflow management, Kafka for data pipelines, Bitbucket for source control, Jenkins for continuous integration, Grafana + Prometheus for metrics collection, ELK for log shipping and monitoring, Docker + Kubernetes for containerisation, OpenStack for our private cloud, Ansible for architecture automation, and Slack for internal communication. But our technology list is never static: we constantly evaluate new tools and libraries.
Man Tech has a small company, no-attitude feel. It is flat structured, open, transparent and collaborative, and you will have plenty of opportunity to grow and have enormous impact on what we do. We are actively engaged with the broader technology community.
o We host and sponsor London’s PyData and Machine Learning Meetups o We open-source some of our technology. See https://github.com/man-group o We regularly talk at leading industry conferences, and tweet about relevant technology and how we’re using it. See @manquanttech Essential Skills o Exceptional technology skills; recognised by your peers as an expert in your domain o A proponent of strong collaborative software engineering techniques and methods: agile development, continuous integration, code review, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches o Expert knowledge in one or more programming languages, preferably Python, Java and/or C/C++ o Proficient on Linux platforms with knowledge of various scripting languages o Strong knowledge of one or more relevant database technologies e.g. Oracle, MongoDB o Proficient with a range of open source frameworks and development tools e.g. NumPy/SciPy/Pandas, Pyramid, AngularJS, React o Familiarity with a variety of programming styles (e.g. OO, functional) and in-depth knowledge of design patterns.

I am master's student in Computer Science at the University of Minnesota. My main focus has been on machine learning, but I do enjoy working on software engineering projects as well. In particular, projects that work with AI or have an impact on education/productivity.
My most recent internship is at Cisco. As a part of Cisco Research Group, I researched and implemented federated learning algorithms into a platform for AI/ML engineers to run federated learning. I enjoyed reading over new research, creating a deck of slides on the key points, receiving feedback on my design choices, and coding!
I have enjoyed taking machine learning courses, including computer vision and natural language processing. I tested machine learning models on human genetic interaction profiles from the Dependency Map Project. While in Seattle, attending meetups to discuss new technologies (such as LLMs) became one of my hobbies.
I am looking for full time opportunities starting in May 2024.
We are a remote-first, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Consulting Company working with state-of-the-art technology and methodology to solve highly complex problems. We're looking for high throughput Engineers that posses both solid theoretical understanding of the technologies their work with and strong coding experience.
We are hiring currently for two projects:
In our first project,a student or recent graduate (up to 18 months) from a Canadian Graduate School with a solid background in Computer Vision will collaborate with our team of experts in Brazil and Israel in an applied research project to improve object detection solutions that are deployed on the edge. For this project, being a lawful Canadian resident who is currently enrolled on or recently graduated from an accredited Graduate School pursuing a Masters or Doctoral Degree is a must. Yearly compensation is expected to be in the range of 45 000 CAD to 55 000 CAD. Python and a very solid understanding of deep learning are paramount, while familiriaty with C++, YOLO models, and Mobile Development are huge pluses. We can make special accomodations to students in grad school. This is a remote position.
On the other hand, in our second project, we are looking for Android Developers who are fluent in Kotlin and experienced with Java and Android Studio. The chosen candidate will collaborate with our team of developers in Brazil and Israel to improve a family of our mobile applications. We are open to hire anyone who lives from GMT-3 to GMT+3, but Latin American candidates are prefered as the salaries for this job are budgeted to be competitive within Latin American standards and to scale according to the level of experience of the candidates. Nice GitHub accounts or portfolios are huge pluses.
If you are interested, please, send your resume along an one paragraph long introductory text explaining your motivations to apply for the position (and your salary expectations, if you are applying for the Android position) to: hiring@snowfox-ai.com.

TileDB has recently announced a $34 million Series B fund-raise and is actively hiring for engineers across a range of roles (SRE, backend/distributed systems, Python, C++, and more). You will have the opportunity to work on innovative technology that creates impact for challenging problems in genomics, geospatial, machine learning, distributed systems, and many other areas.
TileDB Cloud is the modern database, allowing developers and scientists to capture, analyze, and share any data with any tool. We build on a broad foundation of open source, maintaining the TileDB storage engine, libraries for genomics (single-cell and population), geospatial (raster, point clouds, and more), a TileDB visualization engine extending Babylon.js, and much more (github.com/TileDB-Inc/TileDB)
With TileDB, all data — tables, genomics, images, videos, location, time-series — is captured as multi-dimensional arrays. To supercharge this data, TileDB Cloud implements a serverless infrastructure delivering query execution, access control, data and code sharing, and distributed computing at global scale — eliminating cluster management, minimizing TCO, and promoting scientific collaboration and reproducibility.
