We use light to control how living cells produce therapeutic proteins — optogenetic cell engineering, custom illumination hardware, and real-time ML bioprocess control — to drive down cost and scale up production of next-generation therapies.
With our technology scaling from the lab to the real world of biomanufacturing, we're now hiring a foundational software engineer to build the platform tying together our hardware, firmware, cloud, and internal tooling — high ownership over architecture and direction. This is a systems role across the hardware/software boundary (not web/SaaS), working directly with embedded, mechanical, data, and even bioprocess engineers.
Looking for: strong systems thinking; Python + one of TS/Go/Rust; cloud-connected services; comfort interfacing and debugging software against hardware (serial, TCP/IP); Linux. MS + 5 yrs or BS + 7 yrs. Bonus: Industrial IoT (MQTT Sparkplug B, OPC UA, SCADA/MES), regulated-industry data integrity (21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5), or embedded C/C++.

What happens when you get a number wrong?
In most systems, you log an error and move on. At Anyfin, a wrong number is someone's loan application.
We're a profitable Swedish fintech that helps people refinance expensive consumer loans at better rates. Small team, regulated industry, which sounds like a recipe for slow, cautious engineering. It's the opposite. The regulation sets the floor, not the ceiling. Above that floor, we experiment, ship, break, learn, and ship again.
We're building real-time credit decisions using ML models on GKE, Go and Python on the decision layer, TypeScript/Node.js on the API, React on the frontend, BigQuery and dbt for data. Interesting stack, interesting problems, and because we're small, you're close to all of it.
Our co-founder Sven is back leading eng and hiring directly. No recruiter chain, no committee. Short feedback loops. Real ownership. No one to hide behind.

We are a mid-sized company based in Germany. We build secure distributed systems from the ground up.
What we do:
- Building services in Go (and Rust down the road) in an R&D-oriented team
- Designing and implementing distributed systems in a security context
Who we're looking for: Our priority is a lead engineer, but we'll happily take strong juniors if the mindset is right. The key thing: we're not looking for a pure coder, but for someone who enjoys looking at a problem architecturally as well.
- Deep expertise in a technically demanding area. Classic fits: distributed systems, cryptography, networking. Equally welcome: compilers, OS internals, formal verification, database internals — or any other field where you have real depth.
- Solid engineering skills in Go, Python and/or Rust
- German & English, C1 minimum
The role is fully remote within Germany, with very little travel required.
Apply: karriere@puls-security.de
We're a fast-growing custom & private loyalty platform powering programs for household-name brands. Small, fully-remote team across the US and Europe.
We want a detail-obsessed, autonomous mid-to-senior engineer (~5–10 yrs) to investigate customer problems, drive integrations end to end, and own the specs that make them work.
You will use AI to its fullest, but will keep a very close eye on whatever that AI produces. As such, this role is less about coding, and more about figuring out what to build, how that best fits into the system, and why things are as they are, debugging edge cases, anticipating failure modes, talking to people, and plain old debugging.
Tech-wise, we're running on Golang, and using custom database engine on top of local key-value stores, colocating the storage and compute on dedicated hardware servers, and reading data directly from mmap'ed pages of the database. Ever came across HN saying that one can run Twitter on a single machine these days? We're doing that in production. Zero lines of React, few third-party dependencies carefully vetted, every line of JavaScript manually written, and we render HTML server-side like it's 2005.
You: detail-oriented to a fault, self-motivated about investigation/debugging work, comfortable spoken English for client calls, available 9am to noon in New York time.
We are straightforward, driven, personal, and a little messy. We all care, and we expect you to care too.

We're a VC-funded startup (recently raised $51M Series C) building an infrastructure orchestrator and collaborative management platform for Infrastructure-as-Code – from OpenTofu, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Kubernetes, to Ansible.
On the backend we're using 100% Go with AWS primitives. We're looking for backend developers who like doing DevOps'y stuff sometimes (because in a way it's the spirit of our company), or have experience with the cloud native ecosystem. Ideally you'd have experience working with an IaC tool, i.e. Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, or SaltStack.
Overall we have a deeply technical product, trying to build something customers love to use, and have a lot of happy and satisfied customers. We promise interesting work, the ability to open source parts of the project which don't give us a business advantage, as well as healthy working hours.
If that sounds like fun to you, please apply at https://careers.spacelift.io/jobs/3006934-software-engineer-...

I'm Nick, CTO & co-founder. We're Rippling, but for insurance carriers paying their sales force. Every policy sold triggers a chain of payouts across brokers, agents, and sub-agents. Today that runs on spreadsheets and legacy vendor systems and tomorrow they'll run on Chestnut. Nationwide and other major carriers have already made the switch.
Revenue is up 8x in the last year. We're backed by a16z. Founding team came out of leadership at Ethos (insuretech that recently IPO'd in January).
The work is state-heavy and correctness-critical: payouts that must reconcile with finance to the cent, dynamic agent hierarchies, retries, chargebacks, partial failures. These systems move real money and cannot drift.
You'll design schemas, build backend logic, ship UI, deploy, and own the sharp edges that show up with real enterprise customers.
Stack: Go, TypeScript/React, Postgres, Temporal, Kubernetes, AWS. We use AI aggressively and expect you to as well.
We're looking for 3–6 years on real product systems. You're thoughtful about invariants and failure modes.

Join is SaaS for the construction industry — we bring contractors, owners, and design teams onto one platform to coordinate high-value projects.
You'll work across our flagship collaboration app: shaping frontend architecture and UI quality, influencing engineering-wide standards, and shipping with urgency while weighing long-term tradeoffs. We're hiring across profiles — frontend-heavy, fullstack, and backend-heavy — and want someone T-shaped across React/Go/Postgres with deep expertise in at least one.
Stack: React/TypeScript (Vite, RTL, Cypress), Go, Postgres, AWS, Terraform.
You: senior/staff-level experience; strong in at least one of React, Go, or Postgres; a clear communicator who mentors and reviews well.

Scribd, Inc. is on a mission to advance human understanding. Our four products — Scribd®, Slideshare®, Everand™, and Fable — help billions of people across the globe move beyond access and into insight, application, and expertise. We're a YC '06 company — one of the oldest still around — running one of the largest Ruby on Rails sites, serving 200M+ unique visitors a month with 2M+ paying subscribers.
I'm hiring a PM to own our *AI Developer Platform* — the internal product 200+ engineers build on every day. The platform spans the full agentic stack: the tools in each engineer's hands (Claude Code), a plugin marketplace and a library of skills that extend them, an internal app platform and agent runtime that teams build on, and the evals, canonical context, and conventions that make agents reliable across a polyglot codebase (Ruby, Go, TypeScript, Python; AWS/Databricks). You'll own the product strategy for developer experience and how we measure it, partnering directly with the Developer Platform and Data Platform engineering teams who build the underlying capabilities.
We're looking for a highly technical PM — quite possibly a former engineer — who is genuinely passionate about how developer platforms are evolving in the age of AI. You've shipped real products with modern agentic primitives (agents, evals, tool use, MCP, plugins/skills), and you can hold your own with engineers in technical discussions. This is the first PM seat at Scribd pointed inward, in a brand-new domain with no playbook to inherit. Reports to me (Director, Developer Platform).
Friendly, people-first, engineering-driven culture with competitive salary, great benefits, and real work-life balance.
Apply: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ScribdInc/ff2680ea-9a6d-436d-bdb0-3... — or email me directly at cktaylor at scribd.com (I've hired off these threads before). Recruiters/agencies, please don't.

- Fabric: Building out service mesh, networking, and internal traffic routing.
- Storage Layer Services: Building our next-generation disaggregated storage architectures.
- Fleet Management & Deployments: Automating the lifecycle, deployments, and control planes of massive multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters.
- Atlas Infrastructure: Building core infrastructure operations on hundreds of thousands of Linux servers.
You could be a fit if:
- 5+ years of experience in SWE, SRE, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Rust, Python, C/C++ etc.
- Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking, distributed systems, and/or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- A builder's mentality: you think about failure modes, observability, and operability alongside correctness.
For any questions, or to apply directly (please mention HN) email: hani.benhabiles+hn@mongodb.com
