Tower is a Python-native serverless data platform. Data teams write plain Python, and we handle packaging, dependency resolution, scheduling, and execution across a serverless runtime built on Apache Iceberg. There's no clusters to manage, no YAML to write, no pipelines to rewrite to fit someone else's engine. If you've ever wanted your local Python script to just run in production at scale without a Databricks detour, that's the product.
We're a small, senior team split between London and Berlin. We've built a lot of tech: Custom run dispatch service, multi-region routing, storage based on Apache Iceberg, and the runtime itself, to name a few. This is deep systems work--things like scheduling, distributed execution, and performance. We're not gluing SaaS together.
Stack: Go and Rust for the platform, Python everywhere it matters, Kubernetes (EKS + Karpenter) on AWS, RDS Postgres, ElastiCache Redis, S3/Iceberg, WorkOS for auth.
Looking for:
* strong distributed-systems fundamentals
* comfort owning a system end to end
* taste for correctness under load
Bonus: data-platform, query-engine, or Iceberg experience; async Rust; Kubernetes internals.
Apply / questions: Email in bio — mention HN.
We are looking for a senior sofware engineer (Rust, React) to join our team. Aqora has just raised its seed round and we are growing our team to build the "Huggingface of Quantum Computing". Reach out via hiring at aqora.io
Hey HN, we’re ProxyBase. We’re building an API-first, fully headless SOCKS5 proxy network designed specifically for autonomous AI agents, LLM tool-calling, and large-scale web scraping.
Most traditional proxy networks operate in a bit of a gray area—they buy bandwidth harvested from sneaky, hidden SDK bundles embedded inside free apps. We're doing things differently:
100% Ethical Sourcing: We pay our node operators directly. People run our open-source CLI client to share their bandwidth and earn microcredits in real-time. It’s fully transparent, consent-driven, and compensated.
Built for Swarms, Not Dashboards: AI agents and automated workflows can provision, utilize, dynamically route (via metadata in the SOCKS5 auth string), and settle proxy fees entirely programmatically using US based stable coins without ever touching a manual web dashboard.
Our Tech Stack:
Backend: Rust (Actix-web, SQLite/DashMap, WebSockets, Yamux stream multiplexing) Frontend / Desktop: React, TypeScript, Tauri (our client-side bridge app)
What we're looking for:
Backend Engineer (Rust): Help us scale our high-concurrency SOCKS5-to-WebSocket relay gateway and real-time ledger settlement engines. Full-Stack Developer (TypeScript / Tauri / Rust): Own our local proxy bridging software, client-side developer portal, and integration libraries. If you like systems-level programming (TCP/UDP, tunnel multiplexing, concurrent state) and want to work on clean, developer-first infrastructure, we'd love to chat.
Drop us a line at
jobs@proxybase.xyz with a bit about what you've built.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is hiring Rust software engineers to rebuild the genomics ecosystem in Rust. We work at the intersection of computer science and genomics, and we're trying to build a better foundation upon which genomics can be done using Rust. The primary project we’re working on is a bioinformatics workflow execution engine for local, HPC, and Cloud called Sprocket (https://github.com/stjude-rust-labs/sprocket). You can also check out the other projects we have going on at https://github.com/stjude-rust-labs.
NOTE that prior experience in bioinformatics or biology is NOT required for any of the positions below. You must be interested in learning though! If you'd like to get a sense of what you'd be learning, check out the guide we wrote to teach software engineers about genomics here: https://learngenomics.dev.
* Sr. Staff or Principal Software Engineer: https://talent.stjude.org/careers/JobDetail/Senior-Staff-Pri...
With any questions, email me at clay.mcleod@stjude.org. Please do not email me your application directly—be sure to submit it through the job portal.
We secure the SaaS apps companies actually run on: M365, Salesforce, and hundreds more. You’d be on the Threat product team working full-stack. That means browser extension code (content/background scripts, manifest v3, message passing), backend services chewing through millions of events, and the data pipelines feeding our detection engine. One day you’re in TypeScript debugging why a content script won’t capture form submissions on some vendor’s weird SPA. The next you’re in Python fixing a Kafka consumer that’s falling behind. Sometimes you’re in Rust optimizing a hot path in the telemetry collector.
Big current focus is shadow AI, i.e. catching when employees paste sensitive data into ChatGPT, Claude, or whatever LLM showed up this week. You’d build the systems that detect it.
Looking for ~8+ yrs experience, real browser knowledge (DOM, event loop, SPA routing, CORS, not just “I used React”), prior browser extension work, strong TypeScript, comfortable in Python, willing to write Rust, plus data-at-scale chops (event streaming, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Kafka). Bonus: AI security (prompt injection, exfiltration), detection engineering/SIEM, or security tooling.

Spruce lets users control their data across the web. Instead of users logging into platforms, we believe platforms should request to access data vaults controlled by users.
The demand for trusted digital ID is accelerating as AI deepfakes begin to destroy most of the ways we use to verify identity today. How private or secure is it to hold your driver's license or passport up to a webcam to get a bank account? Was it ever private or secure? Stable diffusion can break so much of this already. Society will need trusted digital IDs and credentials. Our mission is to allow them to be controlled by individuals, with safeguards to prevent descents into surveillance states and checkpoint societies.
We are the main implementers of category-defining initiatives such as the digital ID program for the California DMV, and the verifiable digital credentials program in Utah. We are private sector participants in NIST's National Cyber Security of Excellence initiative for privacy-preserving digital ID.
We are hiring skilled engineers who care about making a real impact in improving public services, digital autonomy, and user privacy for the world. We work closely with public sector agencies, and have high regard for public servants. We have a strong engineering and customer-oriented culture, and are not simply a SaaS product or AI wrapper. Our roles are not for the faint of heart: you will be expected to work hard and learn a lot in this role.
Our engineers are ambitious to get outcomes for our customers and their constituents. On any given day, they may write great Rust/C#/TypeScript, deal with mainframe dumps, read policy documents, respond to technical RFIs/RFPs, manage on-prem environments, implement new NFC + Bluetooth protocols in Swift/Kotlin, create CI/CD processes that enforce W3C accessibility guidelines and i18n requirements, rewrite lost specs from disassembled binaries, figure out stablecoin payments, and design new protections for public key infrastructure. It is a team effort, and people with T-shirt shaped skills are able to collaborate and learn a ton from each other every day.
We are interested in candidates who want to be proud of the meaningful impact they make for society, even if it takes time to get right. This is not the right job for someone who wants to "join a cool new AI startup" that implodes or exits in under a year.
See our roles here: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/spruceid
We're working in the AI for science space, specifically at the point of experimental execution. Scientific labs run on expensive instruments locked behind proprietary software with no real API. Getting an agent to actually operate these machines is unsolved, and it's the bottleneck between "AI can design experiments" and "AI can run them." That's what we're building.
Small, technical, well-funded team with real design partners already pulling on us. You'd be one of the first engineers, working directly with the founders across the stack: agents, low-level systems, ML infra, and the runtime that ties it together. Lots of hard, unglamorous, high-leverage problems.
You might be a good fit if:
- You're a strong generalist who's shipped real systems and can go deep when needed
- You're comfortable in messy, low-level territory
- Bonus: ML/agents, scientific instrumentation, or industrial automation
- You want high ownership, high pace, onsite in NYC
We're mostly a Python/Rust/Typescript shop. We care about what you've built, not credentials.
To apply, email contact@tetherline.dev with a bit about yourself and something you've built you're proud of.
We are looking for experienced Site Reliability Engineers and Infrastructure Software Engineers to help build, scale, and secure the foundation of MongoDB Atlas, our globally distributed, multi-cloud database platform.
These are builder roles, heavily focused on making the platform more scalable, resilient, secure and self-service.
Some of the teams include:
- Infrastructure Security: Building infrastructure security controls and security observability tooling leveraging eBPF and Linux security mechanisms.
- Fabric: Building out service mesh, networking, and internal traffic routing.
- Storage Layer Services: Building our next-generation disaggregated storage architectures.
- Fleet Management & Deployments: Automating the lifecycle, deployments, and control planes of massive multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters.
- Atlas Infrastructure: Building core infrastructure operations on hundreds of thousands of Linux servers.
You could be a fit if:
- 5+ years of experience in SWE, SRE, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Rust, Python, C/C++ etc.
- Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking, distributed systems, and/or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- A builder's mentality: you think about failure modes, observability, and operability alongside correctness.
For any questions, or to apply directly (please mention HN) email: hani.benhabiles+hn@mongodb.com

We operate at a larger scale than typical startups. We run two datacenters with high-performance servers we’ve built ourselves, capable of handling the volumes of data we process. We’ve implemented our own distributed file system, perform full-scale web crawls, and download and run static analysis on the entire universe of published Android APKs and iOS IPAs.
Unlike a typical startup where you might spend half your time in meetings and the other half fixing Jira tickets, at MixRank you’ll challenge yourself with difficult technical problems that help you grow as an individual. We’re continuously hiring for the positions below; these aren’t singular roles that close once filled. Our philosophy is that the candidate is more important than the position. For each new member of the team, we design a custom role and responsibilities around their interests.
Other companies may create a long list of specific requirements with the expectation that you’ll exactly replace someone on the team or fit a role defined by committee. MixRank is more pragmatic: we first get excited about bringing a unique individual onto the team, then figure out the best way to support their specific talents.

Ecosmic is on a mission to reduce threat exposure in space by building software for Space Situational Awareness. To achieve this, we built a team of flight dynamics engineers and computer scientists to build & package in-house algorithms into easy-to-use, reliable, and secure products. As an example, our platform recently allowed us to identify a series of close approaches in GEO involving Russia's Luch/Olymp-2 and a Western telecommunications satellite, possibly attributed to SIGINT activity.
We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer (mid-level candidates are welcome too!) to aid the effort of unlocking on-premises deployments of our algorithms with Kubernetes, and to contribute to the evolution of our platform.
Our stack includes Python for backend services and high-level algorithm tooling, C++ for performance-critical components, AWS for cloud infrastructure, and Terraform for IaC. We currently use managed serverless services, and we’re beginning a gradual migration from C++ to Rust for its reliability guarantees.
You’d join a team of three software engineers who love working in such a fantastic domain. I currently take care of most of the infrastructure work with the team, and we’re looking for someone who can help us tackle this new challenge.

We're building a software-defined Battery Management System (BMS) platform + instant quote configuration frontend that gets battery manufacturers the right BMS in days, not years. Funded, prototype proven, first large customer contract, based in Hamburg.
You'd be our first engineering hire, owning the embedded (no_std) Rust firmware and working directly with the CTO (me) on implementation through certification.
Looking for: at least 1+ yr no_std production Rust, a testing/quality mindset, and CI/CD + HiL + coverage as everyday tools. Bonus: async Rust, ARM/RISC-V tracing, CAN/LIN/BLE/LTE, safety-critical (IEC 61508 / ISO 26262).
Anyone interested, please reach out. Direct contact to me: stefan.akatyschew@anoritech.com
Healthcare in the U.S. is a mess. Komodo Health is fixing that—with data. We've mapped the patient journey across the country to build the most complete picture of disease burden and treatment gaps. Our customers are pharma, payers, and health systems who actually want to do something meaningful with that information.
We have an exciting project, where we are building a custom, healthcare data specific compute engine that can be orders of magnitude faster than any analytics solution out there.
We're looking for a Staff-level Data Software Engineer (emphasizing the importance of both data and software here!) to work on this project at the core of our platform. This is a data-engineering problem solved with real software-engineering rigor: you'll be designing the data structures and query systems that make analytics over massive healthcare datasets feel instant. Not wiring up someone else's pipeline DAGs — building the engine underneath.
It's demanding, low-level, performance-obsessed work, and correctness is sacred. If you care about where the microseconds go and refuse to trade off getting the answer right, you'll fit in.
The team is very small, and we intend to keep it this way. If you are interested in heads down work with a group of high caliber like-minded folks, this may be perfect.
What we're looking for
- Staff-level software engineer with deep systems chops — you reason naturally about memory, parallelism, and performance. Rust is a plus; strong C++/Go/systems experience that transfers is welcome.
- Serious data engineering experience — large-scale data processing, columnar formats, correctness/validation at scale, schema discipline.
- AI experience is optional — but the curiosity to go deep on it is not.
- Must already be in the US.
Perks
If you’re in SF/NY, there are offices, but if you choose, you can WFH. We have on-sites every few months to let the team mingle, at various locations! executive/career coaching if desired.
Before you email
Interested? Email me: ramraj.velmurugan@komodohealth.com.
1. You need to already be in the US.
2. You really need advanced data engineering experience. AI experience is optional, though we may test you for aptitude.
3. I've mentioned a keyword in my HN profile — include it in your email (plenty of people just blast every address in these posts). I'll read every email mentioning that keyword sent in the next two days!
