CloudWalk | Remote | Full-time | $100K-150k | https://www.cloudwalk.io
All positions are full-time and 100% remote with no geographical restrictions. Work remotely from anywhere.
We are creating a global payment network on blockchain.
The existing legacy payments infrastructure that connects banks, merchants, and consumers, despite the effectiveness of the network effects and ubiquity, is outdated and not ready for a future where humans, machines, and AIs are going to exchange value in real-time, using a variety of different credit products and currencies.
We are enabling a new way to process credit card and mobile wallet payments, using a decentralized ledger that enables the issuing, authorization, and settlement of credit products through smart contracts.
Our mission is complex and we are looking for ambitious and talented people to help us shape a modern network to unlock fast and highly available payments, while providing privacy and first-class security for the entire network, including consumers, merchants, credit issuers, and bank members.
We are hiring for multiple positions, including:
* Senior Software Engineer - Backend
* Senior Software Engineer - Frontend
* Senior Software Engineer - Mobile
See these and all other positions here: https://careers.cloudwalk.io
Tech Stack: Ruby, Solidity, JS, Python, Rust, Flutter/Dart, Go, React, Postgres, GCP, AWS.

## About Us
Symmetry Investments is a post startup USD 7+ billion alternative asset management company with around 230 people across multiple time zones and locations.
Our core technology team has been remote-first for some time, and the whole company is following suit, post-COVID.
I'm one of the three people running the firm, responsible amongst other things for technology across the firm and I’m posting this myself. That should give you an idea both about how seriously we take technology and the culture of the firm.
We are four years into a period of transformation from what was initially a fairly standard enterprise finance technology approach to something new that recognises the importance of both the humane and the technical for discretionary portfolio management and for the business of running an alternative investment manager. Amaury Sechet (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhR4PSExnqk), Andrei Alexandrescu (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es6U7WAlKpQ) and Atila Neves (https://dlang.org/blog/2019/10/15/my-vision-of-ds-future/) have been working with us as long-term consultants and we have many other talented people with lower public profiles.
It's not easy to integrate practitioners who may spend most of their day programming, but are oriented towards solving business problems, with developers who are specialists in programming. To achieve this, we wrote a little functional DSL that's now in production. Type inference of returns and parameters using inequality constraints is in a feature branch and there is plenty more to do on the language itself as well as the ecosystem around it. SIL can compile and call C++ and D at runtime; Python interop is in alpha; and C# is on the way. What might be a project in itself elsewhere can be just a set of functions in Symmetry Integration Language.
The language is written in D and we have a close involvement with the D Foundation and community, hosting DConf in London. So we are looking for outstanding native code developers who would like to write D as well as people to work with practitioners writing Symmetry Integration Language. Also looking for people to write documentation and work on the build.
It's quite a creative place where we encourage a degree of courage amidst practical constraints, and we are open to doing things a different way if it's commercially sound and in the interests of our investors.
We look for virtues and capabilities over only experience and credentials although those things aren't a disadvantage. Do not let a lack of credentials or qualifications prevent you from applying. We've recently hired experts with C++, Common Lisp, D, Haxe, Haskell, Julia and Perl backgrounds, and are happy to bring them up to speed with the tools we use.
Compensation is currently not quite at Netflix standards but is generous to very generous over time by broad technology industry standards. We recognise and reward technical accomplishment and have a very flat structure - don't be surprised if our founder and CIO starts asking you questions about your work.

We currently have several long-running collaborations with researchers across many disciplines (e.g., neuroscience, computational biology, computer vision, psychiatry, sociology, engineering, environmental science, public health).
Our data scientists and research software engineers partner with researchers to solve hugely diverse problems. The nature of our work varies considerably depending on the projects, but we consistently have research projects that involve machine learning, web app development, mobile apps, high-performance computing (HPC), genomics data, VR/AR.

Saito (https://saito.io) is a leading third-generation blockchain. If you're in the blockchain space and have yet to hear of Saito, that will change this year.
Saito is unique in not being built atop POW or POS. Instead, it is built using a new consensus mechanism that pays ISPs instead of miners or stakers. The solution is also notable for not having 51 percent attacks or discouragement attacks, and for making sybil attacks strictly unprofitable.
We are looking for help with the development of a high-throughput Rust client as well as assistance continue to polish and improve the various applications that are already running on the network and that people are using. Most of the team is based in Asia, but remote work is OK if you're a good fit. Details on the jobs page above. Thanks for reading!
Oso | Software Engineer, Developer Advocate, & Eng Manager | New York City (NYC) | Onsite or Remote
Over the last 15 years, companies like AWS, Stripe, and Twilio have helped developers offload anything not core to their apps so they can focus on what matters to their users. Despite a lot of progress in developer tooling, most developers still roll their own authorization.
You might start with something quick 'n dirty – some IF statements and roles in a database, which may not be pretty but gets the job done...until you need to add more features, and more features. And inevitably every team band-aids onto this system until they do a big refactor. This is lost time for an area that's not core to what most companies are trying to solve for their users, and what's more, no one on the team is feeling great about this work.
At Oso (backed by Sequoia), we're building the first batteries-included library for authorization so developers don't have to roll it on their own ever again. We're designing slick APIs to cut down the amount of time they spend getting their system set up, and building a fully-fledged policy engine and programming language (in Rust) under the hood to ensure they can customize their system however they need. We don't have any product managers – the engineers on the team are responsible for taking broad problems, experimenting with potential solutions and shipping a superhuman experience for our users.
The team members who join now will not only have a disproportionately large impact on the product, but also on the culture and future of the company.
We are based in NYC and hiring folks remote or onsite.
To apply, please visit:

FullStory | Senior Systems Software Engineer (iOS) | Atlanta or REMOTE (USA, Canada, or UK) | https://www.fullstory.com/
FullStory for Mobile Apps is an analytics/session replay framework that records the app's draw calls - omitting anything that is potentially private - then allows the sessions to be analyzed and replayed in our web app. It helps our customers narrow down where their users are getting stuck, and what steps reproduce bugs and edge cases.
We're looking for one more engineer with deep experience in systems programing, debugging, and reverse engineering. iOS experience is also a big plus. Our iOS framework is built with Objective-C and Rust, and then we have internal things built with Swift and other languages.
As one of my co-workers put it:
> Work on state-of-the-art recording of iOS apps to provide a rich, privacy-respecting analytics experience. Reverse engineer iOS frameworks to learn how they work and how they can be used efficiently. Use low level capabilities of the Objective-C runtime to solve problems unique to iOS.
You can also see our team manager's post from a couple of months back for another take on things: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24969524
The company as a whole is awesome. My favorite job in my ~15 year career. Smart, humble people. A focus on empathy, clarity, and "bionics" (e.g. automation, but more than just that). Competitive pay[1], and solid benefits (Anthem insurance, Vanguard 401k, PTO, etc.) paired with a great work-life balance. And more than just "remote friendly", FullStory strives to be "remote equal". (We were about 20% remote last year, it's more like 80-90% now.) Check out https://bwamp.me/ for one example of that.
Please apply at https://boards.greenhouse.io/fullstory/jobs/4918319002?gh_sr...
We also have quite a few other roles open in IT, Design, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Recruiting, Engineering (Backend: Golang, FullStack: Go + TypeScript, SRE: GCP), Product Management, and Sales.
