Resemble AI | Toronto or Remote | Full-Time | Full-Stack Engineer, Deep Learning Researcher, Infrastructure Engineer
Resemble AI creates high-quality synthetic voices that capture human emotion. We're a venture-backed high-growth startup that's looking to shake up an entire industry with state of the art AI. Our product changes the way that thousands of brands, media companies, creative agencies, and game studios create speech content. We’re a remote-first team that thrives on flexibility and creativeness. We cover expenses for office space, equipment, and all of the other perks and benefits that make you productive. We also believe that to build an enticing product and solid team is by encouraging innovation is by enabling continuous education. That's why every Friday is a day that you can use to work on anything you want, Resemble-related or not. We're hiring for three roles:
Full Stack Engineer - Can you break the entire stack? You're the right person for this job. Work on our Rails app, with sprinkles of React, and Python for the deep learning. Everything is dockerized, and we use Kubernetes to deploy.
Deep Learning Researcher - Come build large ML models for voice synthesis! We already have the SoTA Speech Synthesis models, so this role is all about thinking outside of the box and running huge experiments on tons of compute. Experience in deep speech fields like TTS and ASR is desirable alongside proficiency in Python and DL/ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras.
Infrastructure Engineer - As an infrastructure engineer at Resemble AI, you would be responsible for leading technical conversations and making decisions with other infrastructure and backend teams. You would work closely with engineers from different parts of the company to build new features and improve internal engineering standards, tooling, and processes. Additionally, you would anticipate and plan for the growth of Resemble AI's platform infrastructure, and design and implement platform solutions that balance resiliency, durability, and performance.

Waymo | Bay Area and Remote within the USA | Full-time
I'm hiring for the team I lead at Waymo. We're GPU experts who care about latency on the car.
Before coming to Waymo, I lead the CPU/GPU parts of XLA, the compiler for TensorFlow that also powers JAX. We're using XLA and other technologies to make ML and non-ML GPU code run fast on the car.
Ideally we're looking for someone who's comfortable hacking on high-ish level TensorFlow and low-level XLA (or similar frameworks, like TVM), to help with e.g. speeding up int8 stuff. But I'm open to considering strong candidates without this specific experience -- all of this stuff is learnable.
Apply here https://waymo.com/joinus/4764940/ and maybe mention that you saw this on HN! Also if you have questions I'll try to check this thread and reply.

We have several projects to explore and publish about, including but not limited to:
- matching entities (people/addresses/etc.) across many languages and postal systems

We're also open to you exploring questions/problems you're interested in, if you're prepared to clearly explain your process/results.
We're looking for someone who can keep clean notebooks and communicate their workflows and results well. We work in South East Asia with low-resource languages like Bahasa and Burmese (as well as English and Chinese). Our work ranges from designing LLM prompts to training models. We do not generally build models ourselves, but we will if the project requires it. Our team is strong in Data(Dev)Ops and Data Engineering and you'll have the support necessary for sourcing data and running/training models (high VRAM GPU clusters, etc.).
Your work would go towards:
- adding features to our virtual data warehouse product (EdgeSet)
- publishing interesting analysis or results on open questions in research
- assisting clients in solving natural language problems (customer support, QA, etc.)
You should be comfortable working in small teams with minimal guidance.
