We are building a collaborative thinking tool with live editing like google docs but outside the browser and with much simpler technology
Why? Security; We want to create knowledge that is not going to end up in the belly of an LLM
Tech stack:
- Wireguard
- zeromq
- WASM for client, handcrafted server code for server. No browser needed on client
- DSL (for gui; probably you won't touch it)
- NixOS
Our approach to security is simplicity; we won't use dependencies unless we really have to; libs of more than 50k LOC are frowned upon. Every line in the codebase, including deps, should be understandable by someone in the team. Servers are nixOS. No docker anywhere.
About you:
- Are self-motivated and can work independently
- Understand how to build highly reliable systems and be responsible for taking code to production
- Understand that code simplicity and readability are more important for long term maintainability
- Strong CS fundamentals (B.S./M.S. equivalent)
We start out on a full-time trial contract basis for up to 3 months and use this period as an extended work interview for both sides to assess fit for long-term employment

Count is like Jupyter, Tableau and Miro combined in one tool. Some of the world's leading data teams use it for everything from iterating data models and performing in-depth analyses to creating process flow maps of their entire business.
We're a small team looking for experienced software engineers who are interested in tackling deep technical challenges in the data analytics space.
For the best possible user experience, we have developed various technologies in-house, including a custom WebGL rendering engine, our own data visualization library, and a reactive SQL/Python notebook and database query framework.
Example projects: accelerating rendering using quadtree tiling, extending interactivity and customizability of visualizations, leveraging LLMs in data exploration, developing serverless frameworks for executing database queries at high concurrency.
Our tech stack: TypeScript, Python, Node, WebAssembly, WebGL, Apache Arrow/Parquet, DuckDB, Kubernetes, React.

Foxglove is the leading observability platform for robotics developers. We help robotics and autonomous vehicle companies log, ingest, organize, and visualize multimodal data. We're well funded (Series A, ~25 people), with an experienced and fast-moving team. Seeking like-minded people to join us!
- Tech Lead Manager - Frontend / Visualization (U.S. time zones; TypeScript, WebGL, Wasm)
- Staff Product Designer (U.S. time zones)
Come work with us on Brilliant, the most capable agentic AI code editor to date. We're putting the finishing touches on it - join us and help us ship!
We're looking for someone with frontend / fullstack skills, with at least 3 and preferably 5 or more years of experience. It would be beneficial to have additional experience with any of the following: IDE and IDE extension development, cloud development environments, platform engineering, AWS/GCP/K8s/containers, devops, WASM, "prompt engineering", and of course LLM usage and development. Skill with wielding AI dev tools as a user would be a very big plus.
We're located in Jackson Square in San Francisco, and this role would be on-site four days per week. We cannot sponsor visas at this time, and you should either be in the SF Bay Area already or able to relocate here by the end of January.
About Accretional - I [0] left Google in March to better integrate LLMs into developers' workflows. I though most products and startups in the space were either being way too ambitious with what they were claiming to build, or building things that weren't adding much more value than just integrating a chat interface. I still think that. Brilliant is our first product, and we have more to come. I'm the founder, we have one full time employee, and a couple part time employees. You'll have the opportunity to join us very early on with all the excitement and hat wearing that entails!
Contact: jobs at accretional dot com [1]. Please add a brief description of how you currently use AI dev tools.

[1] You might notice if you visit our website that it kind of sucks. That's why we need someone like you with frontend skills! Brilliant itself is in a better shape, but we really need a frontend expert to help us make it something our users will love.
