Ecosmic is on a mission to reduce threat exposure in space by building software for Space Situational Awareness. To achieve this, we built a team of flight dynamics engineers and computer scientists to build & package in-house algorithms into easy-to-use, reliable, and secure products. As an example, our platform recently allowed us to identify a series of close approaches in GEO involving Russia's Luch/Olymp-2 and a Western telecommunications satellite, possibly attributed to SIGINT activity.
We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer (strong mid-level candidates are welcome too!) to aid the effort of unlocking on-premises deployments of our algorithms with Kubernetes, and to contribute to the evolution of our platform.
Our stack includes Python for backend services and high-level algorithm tooling, C++ for performance-critical components, AWS for cloud infrastructure, and Terraform for IaC. We currently use managed serverless services, and we’re beginning a gradual migration from C++ to Rust for its reliability guarantees.
You’d join a team of three software engineers who love working in such a fantastic domain. I currently take care of most of the infrastructure work with the team, and we’re looking for someone who can help us tackle this new challenge.

We make robots that autonomously construct buildings, starting with bricklaying.
There's a lot of vapourware in robotics, but we're deploying robots across multiple concurrent sites today - and generating revenue. In the last couple of months, our robots have built affordable social housing, health care living units, canal walls in the historic city centre of Amsterdam, and a youth sports centre. Help us to build things that matter in the long run.
We're looking for experienced software engineers for many roles. You can help us solve problems like:
- Data sync and analytics queries across a fleet of robots (that can be offline for hours at a time)
- Modelling buildings in code and finding the right UI for operators to edit them
- Designing systems for robots to drive safely and fully autonomously around a building site
Check out the progress we've already made on Atrium, our operating system for robotics: https://www.monumental.co/atrium
We're rapidly scaling up operations and we need experienced engineers who can build the systems that manage all of that complexity. If you think that 'full-stack' could reasonably mean debugging firmware, mixing buckets of mortar _and_ writing React components, we are looking for you. Robotics experience not required!

Roles:
- Senior Software Engineer, 3D Measurements
- Engineering Manager, 3D Measurements
The TL;DR: We are writing software that generates 3D models of buildings. Homeowners, contractors, and insurance professionals use those models to derive metrics, estimate cost and visualize changes (think kitchen remodel). Our long term ambition is to have an accurate and up to date 3D model (digital twin) of every building on the planet.
Hover is expanding the team on many fronts. The 3D Measurements team in particular is looking for talented & experienced software engineers that have proven experience designing and implementing systems for 3D modeling, reconstruction, or CAD-related software and that bring a solid foundation in geometry and 3D math.
If you're interested in working with us, please apply online at https://hover.to/careers/#open-roles. Mention you're from HN and let us know what you've been working on lately.
Shift helps enterprises move faster through complex transformation programmes. We're an early-stage UK startup building the AI systems that power how we deliver that work.
We're hiring an AI Engineering Lead to own the intelligence layer end to end. You'd own the agent systems, work close to the infrastructure, and set the engineering bar for how the product is built. You'd partner directly with the Product Owner: they own the what and the why, you own the how. It's a high-autonomy role at an early stage. No layers, no politics.
Looking for: strong Python, real production experience with LLM APIs (well beyond demos), and a bias for shipping. Container and multi-tenant SaaS experience is a plus.

At Friendly Captcha we do one thing and we do it well: we protect websites from malicious actors and bots.
We provide privacy-friendly and accessible anti-bot solutions that don’t annoy users with tasks like clicking fire hydrants. We make the internet a bit better every day by winning over customers currently using Google reCAPTCHA.
Friendly Captcha is a growing, profitable, fully bootstrapped company. Our revenue mostly comes from medium to large European enterprise and governments. We have the feeling we can make ourselves known better to engineers and other builders to gain more bottom-up growth.
We're looking to strengthen our team with someone who will be focused on our Developer Relations (DevRel) and general marketing activities. We're a startup and this is a pretty mixed role that's hard to describe in one or two sentences. Starbridge is building an AI platform that turns large-scale public and enterprise data into reliable sales insights. We are early, moving fast, and building from zero to one, so this role will have huge ownership and product impact.
AI Engineer: Applied AI plus strong software engineering. You will build, evaluate, and deploy LLM-driven features like deep document analysis and interactive chat, working with models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini. Expect hands-on Python, ML system design, experimentation, and production reliability. Bonus for RAG depth and frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
We're looking to build our in-person team in NYC but also open to remote!
Apply: https://starbridge.ai/careers and mention HackerNews or email recruiting@starbridge.ai with your resume.
I'm Ketan, Head of Engineering at Credo. We're a seed-stage, HIPAA-compliant health-tech company fixing one of healthcare's dumbest problems: getting the right patient data to the people who need it. Billions of pages of medical records still move by fax every year — causing care delays, admin overload, and dangerous gaps in what providers know. Our AI platform gets clinicians the patient answers they need fast. We have paying customers using it daily.
This is an early engineering hire on our Platform team (5–7 people), reporting to me. You'll work the full stack, shape our architecture, and ship to real users every week. High ownership, lots of surface area, frequent collaboration with our ML team.
Stack: Python/Django, Postgres, Vue, Temporal (for our patient-ingestion pipeline and long-running workflows), Google Cloud, and a mix of AI models (mostly Gemini + OpenAI). No prior Temporal experience needed, just enthusiasm for it.
How we work: strong code-review and pairing culture, serious about testing, async-first with a single daily sync, and we've fully integrated plan/spec-based AI tooling into our workflow (Claude, Cursor, CodeRabbit, Copilot — your choice).
Looking for 3–5+ yrs full-stack experience, solid Python + a backend framework, comfort with relational DBs, a modern JS framework, real testing chops, and someone who thrives with ambiguity and owns problems end to end. Healthcare/FHIR/HL7 and AI-feature experience are nice-to-haves, not requirements. Must be in/near NYC for the weekly in-person day.

Odin is the workforce visibility and compliance platform for critical infrastructure. We protect the world's largest construction projects, data centers, and critical assets, from groundbreak to post-turnover, unifying every layer of site security into a single command center: physical access control, workforce compliance, video monitoring, and drone surveillance. We're already on 500+ active projects with 100K+ workers on the platform, securing over $100B in construction value.
Our stack is TypeScript end to end, Node and GraphQL on the backend, React on web, React Native on mobile, Postgres and Kubernetes on GCP. We also integrate deeply with field hardware such as badge readers, kiosks, turnstiles, and cameras.
Lead Platform Engineer: end-to-end owner of the platform and hardware fleet everything runs on. Product teams are your customers. You own infra-as-code, CI/deploys/DX, monitoring, hardware fleet ops, and incident escalation.
Lead Software Engineer: technical owner of an autonomous 2-3 person product team, taking scoped projects from design through release. Not a people-management role.
Both: operational maturity, a habit of mentoring, and AI used to accelerate without outsourcing judgment. Jobsite-adjacent experience (construction tech, access control, IoT/hardware) is a bonus.

* Turning ambiguous problems into production systems. * Owning outcomes, not tickets. * Working across product, architecture, and implementation. * Reviewing and improving AI-generated code. * Shipping quickly without creating a maintenance disaster.
Requirements:
* Strong Python, TypeScript, or equivalent experience. * Strong engineering judgment. * Strong communication skills. * US residency.

20+ years across product, UX and frontend, now doing user-facing AI engineering.
What I do best right now: you shipped an app fast with Lovable / v0 / Cursor and it works, but it looks and behaves like the AI default. I take that codebase and make it actually usable and on-brand. Real design system in code (not a Figma file nobody maintains), consistent components, the polish and interaction layer that makes it feel like a product instead of a prototype. Done-for-you, in your repo.
I also help teams that already build with AI but get inconsistent, off-brand results, via a hands-on workshop / masterclass, so your people can produce in your own style instead of getting generic output.
Tech: React/Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, design systems / design tokens, Figma, Claude Code + agentic workflows.

SmarterDx builds clinical AI for one of healthcare’s most broken systems: how hospitals get paid for the care they actually deliver.
Our physician-designed clinical AI platform reviews the clinical record, understands the nuance of patient care, and helps hospitals capture appropriate reimbursement across the revenue cycle. The core problem is hard: messy clinical data, complex regulations, payer rules, medical reasoning, and real financial stakes. When we get it right, hospitals recover millions in earned revenue, reduce manual review burden, and keep clinical and revenue teams focused on higher-value work.
We’ve hit serious scale while keeping the team unusually strong and technical: MD/data scientist hybrids, Stanford LLM researchers, former Google and Amazon engineers, former ASF board member, and others who are among the best in their fields. Many teammates have been here since we bootstrapped to $1M+ in contracted revenue before raising capital.
In 2025, SmarterDx became part of Smarter Technologies through a $1.1B deal with New Mountain Capital, reaching unicorn status while continuing to operate with the autonomy, urgency, and product velocity that got us here. Before that, we raised $71M from Floodgate, Transformation Capital, and Bessemer, including a $50M Series B.
We have real product-market fit: 85+ health systems, 300+ hospital sites, rapid customer growth, and 150% YoY headcount growth (currently at ~550). Now we’re scaling the platform.
For more and to apply, see https://smarterdx.com/careers
Healthcare in the U.S. is a mess. Komodo Health is fixing that—with data. We've mapped the patient journey across the country to build the most complete picture of disease burden and treatment gaps. Our customers are pharma, payers, and health systems who actually want to do something meaningful with that information.
We have an exciting project, where we are building a custom, healthcare data specific compute engine that can be orders of magnitude faster than any analytics solution out there.
We're looking for a Staff-level Data Software Engineer (emphasizing the importance of both data and software here!) to work on this project at the core of our platform. This is a data-engineering problem solved with real software-engineering rigor: you'll be designing the data structures and query systems that make analytics over massive healthcare datasets feel instant. Not wiring up someone else's pipeline DAGs — building the engine underneath.
It's demanding, low-level, performance-obsessed work, and correctness is sacred. If you care about where the microseconds go and refuse to trade off getting the answer right, you'll fit in.
The team is very small, and we intend to keep it this way. If you are interested in heads down work with a group of high caliber like-minded folks, this may be perfect.
What we're looking for
- Staff-level software engineer with deep systems chops — you reason naturally about memory, parallelism, and performance. Rust is a plus; strong C++/Go/systems experience that transfers is welcome.
- Serious data engineering experience — large-scale data processing, columnar formats, correctness/validation at scale, schema discipline.
- AI experience is optional — but the curiosity to go deep on it is not.
- Must already be in the US.
Perks
If you’re in SF/NY, there are offices, but if you choose, you can WFH. We have on-sites every few months to let the team mingle, at various locations! executive/career coaching if desired.
Before you email
Interested? Email me: ramraj.velmurugan@komodohealth.com.
1. You need to already be in the US.
2. You really need advanced data engineering experience. AI experience is optional, though we may test you for aptitude.
3. I've mentioned a keyword in my HN profile — include it in your email (plenty of people just blast every address in these posts). I'll read every email mentioning that keyword sent in the next two days!
We're a remote-first digital product studio building across sports media, AI, fitness, and personal branding — 500+ web properties and deeply AI-native workflows. AI does the heavy lifting here, but it's the leverage, not the point: we hire for the human judgment, ingenuity, and taste on top of it.
Open roles (remote, contract):
- Agentic Engineer — ship real software with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Aider). You're an engineer, not a prompt operator: basic technical foundation in databases, frameworks, integrations, APIs. <30 hrs/wk.
- Sr Agentic Engineer — architect and own multi-step agent workflows; track record required. <30 hrs/wk.
- Agentic Operator — the human-in-the-loop: walk user flows, native-language QA of AI output, and the testing agents can't do alone (SSO, captchas, mobile apps). 10–40 hrs/wk, open to all levels.
- AI-Native Tech & Growth Director
- Head of Data Science
We're also hiring across product, growth, design, and PR — full list at the link.

Please Read First: Very specific skill set needed, non-negotiable.
I am a retired 25-year federal law enforcement and intelligence unit practitioner building CaseLight (CSI). CaseLight is an offline-first, secure Windows desktop application engineered to replace the chaotic, multi-app workflows used by 50,000+ independent private sector intelligence firms and rural police departments who are priced out of enterprise tech. By utilizing a local-first Tauri/Rust framework and an encrypted SQLite sandbox, CaseLight automates forensic data layout and locks down an unalterable digital chain of custody, completely bypassing cloud-hosting liabilities, third-party subpoena exposure, and infrastructure overhead.
Core Architecture Requirements: This is a low-level native systems role. We are explicitly filtering for senior developers with verified production experience in Tauri, Rust, SQLite/SQLCipher, and React.
